Sales Assistant

Fashion Retail Sales Assistants work across all fashion retail areas in high street outlets, retail superstores and retail parks across all product areas, which could include womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, fashion accessories, footwear, or lingerie.

The job of a Retail Sales Assistant within fashion includes liaising with clients from entry into the fashion retailers store/concession to the final stage of making a sale is vital. Fashion Retail Sales Assistants working with higher priced goods will need to provide a highly personalised approach; meet sales targets, offering advice to customers and monitoring and updating sales display areas.

Retail Sales Assistants within fashion should have an interest in or knowledge of a particular retail area, for example in luxury fashion or footwear etc. Because of the high levels of client interaction, successful Sales Assistants will need a combination of good negotiation skills and diplomacy.
