Junior Assistant Designer

To get a job in fashion or retail as Junior Designer / Assistant Designer you will have worked your way up from entry level as a Fashion Design Assistant, after gaining approximately 1-2 years of fashion industry experience. Fashion Design job titles can however change from company to company and some entry level candidates are titled Junior/Assistant Designer. Junior Designer / Assistant Designer often report into a Fashion Designer or Senior Fashion Designer as opposed to the Design Manager/Director of the fashion or retail company.

As a Junior Designer / Assistant Fashion Designer your job role will include being responsible for: researching fashion trends, assisting with designing fashion ranges and sourcing fabric and trims, whether this is for womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, fashion accessories, footwear, or lingerie .

A Junior Designer / Assistant Fashion Designer will also be capable of using Photoshop and Illustrator coupled with hand drawing skills.
